VU+ Duo stuck on starting

Hi all got this red light issue again after 6 month waiting for caps to be delivered but now when wait and switch on says starting on vix home screen but stuck on their any ideas tried switching box on and off but exactly same again not responding to remote neither just says starting on box and please wait on home screen advise please

Hi mate, have you tried a reflash?

If that doesn't work then you may need to JTag it.

6 months for caps ? Maplin have them !

I dont thinks it bootloader related it terms of it been corrupt if it was it would not reach the boot screen.

Make sure your box has the latest CFE update done if not this problem could well be because its an old CFE.

The CFE is attached for you if you need it.

Instructions

This Bootloader(CFE) should be used for Duo only. Otherwise it will crash the box.


** NOTE ** : CFE update is not needed for Uno and Ultimo

** Brief explanation of Duo's bootloader update **


1. Unzip the duo_cfe_3.0_usb.zip to USB stick.(There should be /vuplus/duo/cfe_cfe_auto.bin)
2. Insert USB stick into the USB port of Duo and turn the power on.
3. It takes just a few seconds to update.
4. If Duo displays the message "Finished..reboot", remove the USB stick and restart the box.
5. To update 6.0 image, you should delete the cfe_cfe_auto.bin at /vuplus/duo in USB stick once bootloader update is finished.

sorry caps was in duo for 6 month then red light issue again

Well as it is booting to the spash screen that does suggest to me the caps fine.

Try the cfe update and then flash another image.

To update 6.0 image, you should delete the cfe_cfe_auto.bin at /vuplus/duo in USB stick once bootloader update is finished

Do the cfe update first .

Then

Open up the folder system of the image on the USB stick your about to flash.

Go into the vuplus folder then the duo folder.

If you see a file named cfe_cfe_auto.bin delete it then flash the image.

been on image on vix vu plus then duo but no cfe cfe splash /root/reboot//kernel/image version is vix the best image or do you recommend a better one thanks for all help

You should go with an image your comfortable with if thats VIX flash the latest one if there is no cfe_cfe_auto.bin dont worry just flash it.

tried to do update flashed on screen for about 2 secs then went to starting . Have to wait 5 min before pressing power on back if do it straight away red dot comes on and that's it

It does not take long to flash the cfe try flash your image now.

done cfe update was trying all night to do it then noticed had usb in back of box took out then done up date and latest vix image starting straight away now thanks for all the help .
