Hi there

I'm hoping somebody could point me in the right direction as I have been trying for days to get this to work and I seem to be going round and round in circles...
I have tried researching on the forum but not really found a solution that works yet.
The issues are to do with the channels, I have had most of them working but alas not all at the same time. Every time I try something to fix it, I loose some of them but some of the others start working.
Roughly, this is what I have done:

First off I installed Catseye 28.2e settings. Rebooted. Some channels worked but some didn't.
Then I set CrossEPG to update rytec providers, then downloaded the rytec uk xmltv. Rebooted.
Then I installed Autobouquetsmaker and scanned now. Some channels started working and some stopped.

Now if the channel I want is not working I would have to either do another ABM scan or install the Catseye settings again. And so it went on round and round until I gave up on that and downloaded Rats bouquet and Autobouquets E2 for 28.2e and what do you know, i'm having exactly the same problems as described above.

All I want is a set of channels that works all at the same time. I must be doing something wrong here, but what?
What is the proper procedure to set it up after downloading an up to date channel bouquet?

Regards

Black Hole 2.1.7 on Genuine VU plus duo. Working nline.

I would remove everything from ect/enigma2
then try 1 again

you have been transferring an awful lot of lists maybe there are fragments left ?

worth a try

Hi Rat
I will try that - in what order should I do it all, is it- install bouquet, run ABM, then update CrossEPG?
Thanks

Tbh say for instance you use Rat's Bouquet
there should be no reason you have to run autobouquet

install bouquet , see if channels clear then run crossepg

I use opentv not rytec so I cant help there

If you're just watching 28.2 then use either autobouquets 28.2 or rat's bouquets.

Then within crossepg, use OpenTV as the source for 28.2.

I have a folder called 'Dream' in there, should I delete that too?

Normally there isn't any other folder in that location. It must be due to a plugin or something.

If you haven't got any plugins that might use that folder then delete it otherwise keep it for time being. It shouldn't make any difference to resetting your bouquets back to defaults.

Deleting everything in "/etc/enigma2" as mentioned by Rat and then doing a reboot you should get prompted about setting up BH again. Go through and do tuner configuration (automatic, simple option) and then choose either Autobouquets 28.2 or Rat's bouquets (best not to use both).

with all the messing going on would it not be a better option to start from scratch and use no backup restore settings.
save your line and cfg first.

i use vix image on all my boxes and setup abm no need for channel lists and set my epg to store to usb and as mentioned crossepg on 28.2.
abm and epg set to daily download in early morning.

ok deleted the lot, installed Rats bouquet, (some channels working) tried to download sly uk opentv on crossepg but get the message 'Cross epg error: no valid NIM found'

I pressed the green button to get to the crossepg plugin and ran it from there ok, however after it completed I have hardly any channels working now. tried rebooting, just the same ..

so its all just the same really, only about half the channels, all the FTA ones though. I didn't do the tuner config as suggested by ketmp - would that have made a difference?
I may have to start again from scratch as suggested, might give Vix a try instead of black hole maybe..

If you only use 28.2 then I recommend vix also. You can setup auto bouquet maker to update channels early hours each morning and get crossepg to update epg via opentv just after. No problems from me doing this.

You do need to setup tuner details and if u have twin sat feed to your box u have to do this twice for each tuner

Hi, could somebody please explain the tuner set up process to me on vu plus duo with black hole? When I have tried I have ended up with hundreds and hundreds of channels that don't match the installed bouquet.
Thanks

Are you in the ful sat list or under the blue button for bouquets ?

We need a bit more info on the problem mate.

Hi, actually under the blue button the channels remain in order. I have gone to menu>setup>service searching>manual scan .. Did a and b and each came up with around 25 channels. Then I did the same but with automatic scan ( clear before scan > no) and it came up with around 900 channels, rebooted . No apparent change , still loads of non working channels on the bouquet. Then updated crossepg (force reload) rebooted and now more of the channels work but some others are now not.
What am I doing wrong ?

Bouquets are user files they dont get updated from a normal scan only the main sat list.

Maybe autobouquest is a better option for you as that will update it bouquets.

Hi all, thanks for your help so far with this, I have decided to re flash as suggested and am now running openvix and I have to say for me it's so much better already!
However ...

However... I have a problem with the darn channels again. I have installed auto bouquets e2 and use crossepg with updated opentv and rytec. Now most of the channels work but when I find one that does not I have figured out all I have to do is reboot the box while on that channel and hey presto it works after! Success! But it is a bit of a pain and as you make that one work another will stop somewhere.. What am I doing wrong ?

Seems strange a reboot allows the channel to work.

Is it just a fixed dish or some other dish configuration ?

It's fixed std sky plus dish, set up tuner a to single and tuner b to equal to a.
