VU+ Duo channels work then don't - whats the proper procedure?

I think it may be something to do with the tuner setup perhaps, (?) I was just in there looking at my configuration and suddenly the channel I was watching stopped. I didn't actually change anything just went in and back out and that killed it. Then I rebooted and it's come back on!
Any ideas?

Set both tuners up to single, 28.2e re scan and see if that helps :)

Rats suggestion is a good would but assumes you have a separate feed from the LNB to each tuner. Is that correct ? If so do as Rat suggests.

If the problem persists the next step for me would be replacing the LNB at that point id by a quad/octo LNB so if you dont have a feed for each tuner you then would be able to do so.

Correct ferret, well spotted :)

Hi, yes separate feeds to each tuner from lnb, I have changed them to single and automatic re scaned, still some channels were not working, restarted, that fixed some. Updated scanned the auto bouquets e2 and restarted that fixed a couple more but there is still more that's not working. I'm sure if I restart while on them it will start working,
But how can I get all of them working at the same time to save having to restart so often? What is restarting actually doing to make the channel work I wonder ...
Cheers

Can you load my bouquets to see if that fixes it please

What seems really strange to me is channels that dont work suddenly work after a reboot. This Suggests the channels are scanned in correctly and there is a intermittent fault somewhere.

Are the channels that dont work on the same polarity ie all on horizontal or all on vertical ?

Hi
They are a mix of both horizontal and vertical, I will wipe off and try rats bouquet ...

tried your bouquet Rat - same problem, no difference! they come and they go but they never stay!
The box only ever seems to use tuner A, is that normal/relevant?

Well as stated above mate id not try another LNB even though they appear to be a mix of H & V channels.

If also try one tuner at a time disabling the other and see if the problems is just tuner A.

Cheers ferret, with tuner A disabled all I get are the FTA channels with tuner B.
I will get the lnb swopped soon to rule that out..
is it possible this could be the n-line I use?

We are talking about FTA channels so why would the nline play a part ?

All channels work with tuner b so swap the lnb feed from tuner b to tuner a then disable tuner b.

Does tuner a now show all channels ?

If it does then the port on the lnb previously used or the cable to that port could be faulty. If tuner a still does not show all the channel then it could be a tuner issue.

Hi ferret
I did as you said and swopped the feeds around and disabled tuner b, rebooted and just the same unfortunately.
For instance, I get discovery channel but not history, if I reboot while on history it will work when comes back on but discovery won't work then. And it's like this randomly through all the pay channels.
All the FTA channels work all of the time, that's why I thought it may be related to my nline..

It must be related to your line mate then as it only happens on encrypted channels.

Do it take it your using mgcamd ?

If so can you post your mgcamd cfg for use to see if there is anything wrong.

The thing that stood out instantly was the box type was set at

B: { 00 }

Change this to

B: { 06 }

Then save and reboot

This is correct for enigma2 type boxes save it then reboot and see how you go.

Remember recording and watching one at the same time depends on your provider and if he allows it.

The above should fix most you issues.

I noticed your logging was on. This has been known to cause some problems.

This mg_cfg file I use with mgcamd 1.38 without any problems at all.

You have cracked it my man !!! Fantastic work !!! I owe you one big time !!! Hahaha :) 10/10
Fair play

Sorry ketmp, I didn't get a chance to try your fix... the ferret miester wins today ! :)
I changed the 00 to 06 and that sorted it.
Thanks to everyone and also thanks for your patience with this annoying problem!
