VU+ Duo epg problem

Hope there is some one out there who I can contact to help sort my issue as described on earlier post below, Cheers all

Hi people out there.
I am fairly new to this so excuse if terminology isn't quite right. I have a Vu+duo was all set up by a friend and now he's gone so left on my own. The problem I have is, I have just done a manual scan to update TV channels
set it to A tuner, single satellite, for Astra 28.2 satellite, that was all ok took a while but complete. Went to EPG XMLTV-importer then XMLTV import configuration Source RYTEC UK XMLTV then went to manual as I've done before only for RYTEC UKXMLTV to come up and disappear very quickly with 0 downloads.
That's where I'm beat don't no where to go in EPG Settings to try and rectify so simply please need a little helpxx

What image are you using, is it the epg you want

I believe its VIX have updated channel list ok go to XMLTV import config start on yellow button it insanely starts then stops showing 0 event's I have checked I am using Rytech UK XMLTV just seems to go somewhere and click a button somewhere I believe I have them stored in media/usb ?? thanks for replying

Have you got crossepg installed

If so go to cross epg, configure, set it to no, once a day, pick a time, yes, yes, ok/green. then go to open tv providers select astra2 on 28.2 save/green, thats cross epg set up, scroll down and download now

Just checked crosspeg in menu its telling me
enable csv import NO
scheduled download DISABLED
show as plugin YES
show as extension YES

have loaded epg

You want to schedule download one a day and select a time (i set to 04.00)

All done, it now reads on screen

Thats you downloading the epg, id also go to epg, settings and make sure epg location is set to //media/usb then ok

do I have to reboot or will it disappear eventually

It might have stalled a few people have been geting the same problems with cross epg, reboot and try again go back and check its all set up the way i said and try and download again if still the same id uninstall it, reboot install it again set it up again and redownload epg data

had to reboot to get rid of reading titles, re set up, checked XMLTV it started then went straight off again with 0 events
not quite sure how to id uninstall cant seem to find it ??

You shouldnt need to use xmltv importer, cross epg will do it all for you, what version of vix are you using go to menu, information, about, just need version and build number, also is it a clone you have

sorry for delay had to reboot to get rid of read titles on screen to allow me to use menu

that quite an old build to uninstal crossepg you would go to menu, plugins red/remove then systemplugins, crossepg, ok, yes, reboot once done, then using an ftp program like filezilla you will transfare the file below to temp folder and install it

if you need help with ftp ill talk you through it

Thats good you have used it before, download that ipk file i sent and using filezilla transfare the downloaded file to temp folder, then on your duo press blue, vix, install local extension, install crossepg reboot after then set up crossepg again
