Tune failed

could i have knackered any drivers or anything,all i did was tried to flash latest Vix image,it would not load on reboot so i read you have to flash latest bootloader so i did from vix site then the image.it still did not load so flashed another image openpli and thats when my tuner A fault first happened/came to light.

HI AJT
Have you solved your problem as I have similar issue with my solo2

@medlence, it is unlikely you have a similar issue as your receiver is an original.

Start a new thread and post as much detail as you can without revealing any sensitive data.

Welcome to the forum by the way.

Good morning mate,Tried all day yesterday to re-flash my chip but no luck.The program finds my com port but does not start update.But i am not using the advised method as i don't have XP.(win7)
A good friend has a laptop running XP and a physical serial port on it(i hope)so will have that tomorrow to try.
I will try this as a last throw of the dice then send the box back if no joy.I have had a good time learning about meter testing and stuff though.both tuners are fine as is PSU.
I must say i am very impressed with the OpenVIx 3 image and set up box as i want it and did a complete back up to usb flash drive ready to flash back to my box.
I have one question I used GPflashbackup on a clean flash drive can i just put this in box and flash as normal as i noticed it has 2 folders on with 2 backups.

I've never used GPflashbackup on my receiver so can't comment. The backups (both full image or just settings) made using the inbuilt backup facilities have always worked. (barring the splash screen on the TM as this is not technically part of the image).

Blue Button > Vix
You will then get the two options

Image = Full Image
Backup = Settings

However, I would err on the side of caution and start afresh and make a new backup after you have it working properly.

your correct and i was also thinking same..be a bit silly to flash back errors.
cheers

Well i have re flashed chip to no avail and i believe i have covered about everything so box is going back tomorrow,Sad face...

Well box has gone back and been promised a refund....
I have purchased a genuine one VU+DUO from world of satellite as offers good support and i am fed up with problematic boxes.

Pity. You should really have paid the £50 extra and got the Solo2. Give him a call and see if he can change your order.

Hi mate umm solo2 looks great but i am happy with duo.Will use it learn it and maybe trade up later.
will be selling my dm800se clone Wifi with A8P pli 3.0 plus the original 210 sim as spare,box is as new condition.
Can you P.M me with what you think is a good price to sell at.

.... I am happy with duo.
You will be HAPPIER with the Solo2. Bear in mind the Duo is several years old. If you chaneg your mind, give Steff a call in the morning.

You'd be better selling the 2.10 SIM separately. Bundled is no good as nobody would go backwards.

I have recently been plagued by these Tune Fail messages, and I stumbled accross something:
Ok, on Hotbird, FOX channel is on 14484H,27500. When I go to it I get a Tune Fail every time.
While there, if I go into the "information" page of the receiver, and select "tuner information",
I get a number that's slightly higher, like 14494H,27500. And If I push the tuner info button twice, that frequency fluctuates a bit and presto; I get FOX showing on TV!

Does this help diagnose what's going on? A channel that normally gives a Tune Fail is suddenly available after I probe the tuner info a few times..

PS: This is a Meelo Vu Solo btw..
