virgin media epg

Posting on twitter or facebook will be construed as going out of your way to embarrass them. That won't get you anywhere.

Maybe send a PM to one of their developers.

Not very good from the BH team as i know a couple of the team are UK based and have had access to the so called Twin Tuner Plug & Play DVB-C/T/T2 tuner which would make the Duo2 a Twin sat and Twin cable capable receiver.

But as Abu pointed out whats the point if VU's so called only payrolled team cant get the shagging EPG working for VM, Certainly wont sell a lot of tuners with BH support looks like its been left to the OE alliance teams to sort out the mess.

Simple Answer if you want Cable EPG change your image

so do i have be on that PVR_EPG channel to download epg everytime?
Once you enable the Virgin EPG, you will get a trickle feed on any channel and will have epg for the next day. If you want a weeks worth (might actually be five days) you will have to zap to any channel on the same transponder as the PVR-EPG chanenl. Leave it on for about two minutes. The EPG refresh plugin can automate the process for you.

...also how do i get it to show that he epg is downloading or doing something as it shows nothing on screen?
It does not show anything. EPG data is absorbed in the background.

ive checked the usb and ther is no epg.dat file?..
OpenPLI does not have an option for you to decide where to save the EPG data. Did you install the "epg cache" plugin? If you have not, you will be saving epg to the internal memory.

thanks abu...i think it may heve been my usb stick, i reformatted it to fat32 and now works....i can see the epg.dat file on the usb stick..

ok so i decided to add the sat side as well....scan the astra sat 28.2...ran the Autoboquets E2...created all boquets...so no epg on sat side...so i set up CrossEPG...to save on same usb stick..i tried Opentv providers (SkyUk OpenTV Astra 28.2) and XEPGDB providers (Rytec UK XMLTV XEPGDB repacked), but neither download the epg to the usb stick, when i run the CrossPG downloader its done within 5 secs..so its not downloading, i even changed to download to hard drive but its the same...any ideas why..?..cheers

I would advise against using two different sources of epg for the same provider. Obtaining data from one place and then repalacing it with another is not productive. Just pick whether you want internet based data or from the stream and configure your system to use your preferred one.

Well looks like the boffins at BH have listened and sorted out this issue in the latest bh 2.1.6 release...Cheers guys.
@abu...I have two different provider sly and virmin..
