hi all
I have been given a vmdg480 super hub (brand new) wondering what's the best use I can put it to (if any) as I have a super hub from vm already. wondering if it could be used as a bridge or a wifi extender or any thing along them lines. I am new to this site and am hoping to learn a thing or two from you all. I am also willing to research and try various ideas. I have seen a couple of things on here but as I am a newbie I really would need an idiots guard. any help would be really appreciated thank you

To be honest, they are all decent in modem mode but for anything else they are pretty crap.

You never know the modem's might get done again one day ;) might be worth keeping it in your attack or something... but for me it would be in the bin!

Just being honest matey... good luck!

Regards
Mick

you can use it as a wifi extender fairly easily, Just connect the two via ethernet cable (not the WAN port) and switch off DHCP.

Personally using superhub 2 as my main router and its been pretty stable for me, might need a reboot it every 3 or 4 weeks. Got a TP-Link router as an extender connected the way I described to cover the far side of the house.
