Network Provider Picture messages

Hi, Ive been on the virgin network for some time now but for some reason I cant send pictures. Ive added what I thought to be the correct settings under the apn but no joy. Do any of you guys know if im suppose to edit the current apn with the picture message settings or create a seperate apn for pictures?

whatsapp is ideal I find and it also adds the image's straight into my photo album when someone sends me them using whatsapp..

Would agree with everyone else and go with Whatsapp but these are the settings i found for VM

Picture Messaging settings

All done! just follow these instructions to set up email on you phone. You can print this page if you like.


Setting up the Device

On the device, press the Menu key.
Select Settings > Wireless controls > Mobile networks > Access Point Names.
Press the Menu key and select New APN.
Select Name, enter Virgin MMS and press OK.
Select APN, enter goto.virginmobile.uk and press OK.
Enter the user name and password listed below. If no value is listed, leave the field blank.
User name: user
Password:
Select MMSC, enter http://mms.virginmobile.co.uk:8002 and press OK.
Select MMS Proxy, enter 193.30.166.2 and press OK.
Select MMS Port, enter 8080 and press OK.
Select APN type, select mms and press OK.
Press the Menu key and select Save

The settings are saved and the service is ready for use.

Setting details

Below are the details of your settings
Name: Virgin MMS
IP Address: 193.30.166.2
Username: (none)
Password: (none)
Homepage: http://mms.virginmobile.co.uk:8002
Server Address: goto.virginmobile.uk
 
Sorry for the delay but thanks all. I upgraded my phone in the end to galaxy S7 edge and everything now works. I do use whatsap is was more a sake of getting the text pic working just so it worked but many thanks
 
I wouldn't bother setting it up on VM, with the price of sending an MMS @ 30p a go ffs
