Just a quick qustion i have tried a couple of different zgemma cable boxes from the lc to the h2 and even the h2h.
What i have noticed is even with different lines from different suppliers the same channels are unwatchable one of these being itv 1 +1 is this down to certain channels being on low freqencies and the quality of the tuners in the zgemma boxes being poor quality as the premium channels sports movies ect always seem ok. Is there any type of booster that can fix this or is it just down to the area your in and the boxes.

must be problem with your signal , splitter, cable etc..could be anything really, if its doing it on all them boxes. cant see all the tuners being faulty or weak on all the boxes..

I have tried all 3 boxes at different locations and yes mate got the correct splitters dose them forward path attenuators make a different and do they need to go on the splitter as ive already tried a few difference db ones on the box and they made no difference. I honestly think its more a issue it my netid area because at 3 different locations it was the same channels and from different providers. Does the attenuator have to be 10db ?

I have just tried a 6db forward path set up exactly as in the pic as this was the highest i had didn't make any difference. Its just certain channels i think the 29% signal showing is something to do with the images cause even the channels that work perfect show 29%. I think its more of a region issue on the zgemma as i tried an very old Q box somebody lent me all the channels that didnt work or froze on the zgemmas worked on that.

Too much or too little signal could cause this the problem with the zgemmas is you never know what level of signal you have with the 29% thing.

A good indication of a strong signal would be droppers on you hub.

Common knowledge the tuners arnt the best in the Zgemma range and its been that way from the cloud ibox days. Really needs the signal level perfect to perform as it should.

Do you mean try different attenuators on the router does this affect the signal at the box end ? . Also i have read people saying the H5 performs much better , also the eddison linux based cable box. Thanks for the reply

What does the edison box report signal wise ?

I dont have a edison was just thinking of trying one out. The problem is the same on the same channels at 3 different locations on the same network id with different cables , splitters and from different line providers. It is def a signal issue on the said area platform with these boxes tuners it has to be. Its channels like itv1 + 1 , dmax sky arts yet movies & sports are perfect.

Well untill you can get a accurate signal strength reading something the zgemma is incapable of we are just guessing.

I know but if it was signal related at my site why would it be the same at 3 different sites on different boxes but all on the same netid platform. And its not image related cause have tried latest openatv & vix. Can these attenuators make a big difference & where is the best place to put them on the feed i haven't tried a 10db one like in the pic as i only had a 8db laid about.

Attenuators are used for reducing the signal levels without knowing what your signal levels are its the blind leading the blind. You may not need a reduction you may need a increase. Or it could be the tuner dose not like something about those channels

All guess work without knowing your signal levels. It been the same at three site im leaning towards tuner.

Yes i am thinking tuner and area but i am waiting on a booster arriving so i shall post the results once i have tried it
