Looking for someone in the northeast to rig my caravan up with freesat if anyones wants a days work ?

If anyone wants to rig is up with with a sat system on a caravan 2 rooms sitting room and bedroom Im willing to pay a decent days wage are if you want Im willing to give you a free one week holiday.

I just want freesat installed as I have to rent it out this summer to help with the site fees, but I would want to ugrade it to see some premium channels next year so maybe I might need more then a bog standard box.

If anyone can help me out can you send me a pm please Id try myself but ive never even looked at a sat box before lol and Id run into trouble

cheers for any help BHL

it shouldnt be to hard to set a free sat set up,at least one
thing you dont have to up and down the ladders

i set up sky down out van in essex using my old mini dish..

point and shoot..

shouldnt be too hard for a diyer

MMMMM thing is dont I need to know where to point the dish ?

second this is I dont want to touch the caravan with anything screws bolts etc so I dont know where to start.

Can I just buy a nice long scaffolding bar and cement it in a block and attach the dish to that ??

I think I need a hand to be honest there is a ariel attached all ready on the roof so there might be some solid points up there to bolt a dish on ?

Id rather pay someone to do a neat and tidy job :roflmao:

is there any other dishes on site .. get a general idea then get a cheap sat beeper to align up.. or sat finder for better accuracy..

if you have the ariel pole.. do what i did, take it off the van. attach it to a solid fence post and attach the dish to that..

if i were up your way woulda gave you a hand for a drink..

tho it looks daunting, easy enough to do your self

Hello m8, if you want freesat, it is an absolute doddle to do yourself.
Get yourself a satellite camping kit or similar. Put the dish on a tripod, or a scaffold pole like you suggested.

You WILL be able to do it yourself.

whow much was you thinking of paying m8?

official freesat install from argos/comets etc is £80, they supply everything except the receiver

only thing is though, when someone walks off with the remote, youre screwed

Freesat wont install on caravan camps in my area, same as sky wont either. Keeps me busy locally :) but I am surprised if comet/argos/etc accept freesat orders in your area dude for caravans?
Park Resorts site office will have details of the local private installer that they use, if you really get stuck BHL. But i would go with suggestions to do yourself.

yep id say to DiY but was throwing the suggestion in

ill fit (and have in the past) a dish to a caravan, garden shed, tree, treehouse, telegraph pole, fence post, garden wall, side of a dock, anywhere the customer wants it, if safe and secure to do so

most caravan sites have 'deals' with local installers, which means they can charge the van owners inflated fees, most sites down here its about 185 quid for a freesat install with an SD box by a 'site approved installer'

i tell the customers that if site approved is better qualified than sky approved, CAI, RDI, C&G and a few others, then theyd be better off contacting argos for a refund on the install

most caravan sites though, even if you do put your own dish up, will make you remove it, as it wont have the sticker on it for the sites approved installer, i know most of the installers all over wales, so can usually put people in touich direct, without them being further stung by the actual site

Park Resorts wont make you remove dishes -unless other reasons of course. I have my local Park Resorts well covered, but yes if you go through office then expect to pay a bit higher than finding someone direct. Similar £180 rate here, but if you go through office then only book for dish install, dont mention the second tv's etc, because you can arrange extras with the installer yourself.

Thanks for the input helmets digidude I Will speak to the site manager tomorrow and see what there rules and regs are also if they have there own installer?

Ive been doing a bit reading and might have a bash my self when I get the time going to get a price first though and see how it goes.

Thanks for the info though
