FOX has ordered a second edition of its 'X-Files' revival set to begin production this summer for a 2017-2018 season.
FOX is reopening "The X-Files" again. A year after the show's successful return, the network has ordered a new 10-episode event series of its revival, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson set to return as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
Creator and executive producer Chris Carter is on board as well. Production is scheduled to begin during the summer. The new 10-episode run will air during the 2017-18 broadcast season

The last season was ok, there was something missing imo. I am currently rewatching the first 9 seasons in bluray. They have done a really good job. If it weren't for the crappy phones and older cars you would think it was filmed yesterday .

I'll still enjoy it though, most of last season was a bit of a catch up. This season hopefully will get that edge back it had.

I'm looking forward to seeing the 'new' Twin Peaks. Haven't got Sky, so might be a 'torrent' ;)

I'm a big fan of the x-files and thought last season was very good. It had a little bit of each type of episode in it.

And Gillian Anderson has quit. Season 11 will be her last.

Not sure where that leaves it going forward. Robert Patrick not open to permanent return, and Annabeth Gish's character has joined the dark side.

Einstein and Miller combo just a joke.

Not necessarily.. It's not been officially confirmed.

Apart from Gillian Anderson herself saying it.

The production team will want to downplay it whilst they try and negotiate with more money etc. :)

has any one watched the new season 11? it seems to be pointless just loads of 1 episodes arcs

Yep.

X-Files were supposed to be mostly standalone eps. I quite like the new season tbh. Ok, the retcon start was poor, but after that I've enjoyed most of it.

You can't have it ALL focused around 1 on going story.

EDIT: Ok the lost art of forehead sweat episode was dire but also funny in a weird way - but it had some great Trump digs in it :D
