yes yamada do firmware upgrades but only til they bring out a new model then they forget all about customers with older players,i have the yamada dvx6100 and the last firmware they released had a few bugs which i cant fix as theres no newer firmware and one of the bugs is the fact i can no longer downgrade the firmware either so im stuck with the bugs,apart from the its brilliant was over the moon nearly 2 years ago when i bought it for around £40 and i could play divx ,no more mpeg movies(vcd,svcd) even plays unfinalized discs and vob files no need for the full dvd.
