xbox 1 backups on 360

You'll need a harddrive in order to install the Xbox emulator.

Did we have a date mate? :)

I didn't know anything was planned mate, sorry.

It is backward compatible mate but it's all done via emulation.

When you try to play a Xbox 1 title it will prompt you to download a free update, you don't need a Gold Live account, just a standard silver account is enough.

Reason for the emulator is that all Xbox1 games were written for the x86 range of processors, the 360 uses a PPC chip and the instructions need re-encoded.

but i can just download a xbox game and burn it to a double layer disc and it will work ok after the update yeah?

Xbox 1 games (backups) will work in a modded 360 but I've never created my own backup nor have I burnt one to use on a 360.

I remember reading that you needed to hotswap your game disc with a DVD movie if you were wanting to create your own backup, I don't know if that is still the case and I don't know if downloaded .iso's can be burnt without patching.

But the basic answer is YES, xbox 1 games will play on a modded 360
