Hi Guys
I have been looking at wirless routers on Ebay, it seems that the Motorolla ones are half the price of other makes.

Does anyone know why this is.

Langland m8, having had a quick look myself, two things pop up to me,
a: there refurb' units - not new
b: there wireless access point/router units - no dsl modem in them (more & more units are now combining the three operations in one box).
Don't know too much about Motorola gear personally, I have D-Link & Netgear (Bay Networks) stuff at home.
Also, looks like one seller has a job lot of em' to get rid of.
Hope this helps..

got my netgear stuff, but couldn't get it to work, spent 5 hours on Friday wth tech support from netcare, couldn't hardly tell what they were telling me, and 6 hours today with ntl and netcare support.

still not working

I am so p*ssed off
Ive had 2 days off work and wasted them

Lang m8y, whats the problem???
Have you read the thread HERE?
Some very useful info...

I have no idea what happened yesterday, and Friday.
I decided today to connect my works laptop via the wireless router, this meant I had to contact our IT dept who have admin rights.
After IT had enabled the USB adapter it worked.
So i started from scratch on my desktop.
1) Loaded softwear
2) Plugged in adapter
3) Clicked internet explorer and hey I'm surfing

Good stuff this Netgear!!!!

Ahh..so your using a USB network adapter??
These can be a bit flakey, especially if your trying to set-up router/modem functions...I'd always recomend doing the set-up part via a 'wired' link not wireless...
Anyway, glad your sorted now m8y ;)
