Windows losing web shortcuts?

Over the past couple of windows upates we have been having users lose shortcuts to our webmail, and a few other web based sites. Everytime I google for shortcuts going away all I find is hidden desktop items. Is anyone else having just one or 2 shortcuts go away (and going away again even if readded to the desktop)? Our experience has been
