Simple.

1. Right Click on My Computer goto Properities
2. Under Advanced Click THe Settings Button in the Performance Box
3. make sure "Drop Shadows For Icon Lables on the desktop" is ticked.

Still hasnt sorted the problem. : shocked2

make sure your GFX card is updated with the latest drivers and that the colur settings is 16bit or higher in the display properties

If you're sure that Drop shadows is ticked, then the other cause is having Active Desktop enabled.

Right click on the desktop,
choose properties,
Select the Desktop tab,
Press Customise Desktop,
Select Web Tab
If any in there are ticked, untick them and OK all the way out
