Peripherals Will I lose HDR capability if I connect a non hdr monitor as a 2nd screen?

I use my 40" samsung tv as my main monitor. My 2 monitors are sitting redundant and was going to connect one up as I like to have info/discord up on a 2nd screen while i play games. I read somewhere that i'd lose HDR functionality if i connected one of the monitors up. Can anyone confirm this?

I decided to try for myself and can run the 1080p monitor without it affecting my HDR capability
