Wii from US will it work in UK

Hi all

New to the Wii, but thinking of getting one from USA as I'm there next month as UK prices are still silly. Does anyone know if a US Wii will work in the UK as not sure about voltages and PAL/NTSC formats etc or better to wait as it's for my son's birthday and don't know when prices will drop back to normal!

Anyone any ideas??

it would work but obviously the games wouldnt well PAL ones anyway. And if you were to chip it not all the NTSC games work with the chips - yet.

I've got a US wii and it works fine

but you'll need to get a step down convertor
