i just wanna clear something up, i just want a cable free internet connection via my modem and my laptop, does this mean i will have to buy a wireless pc card and a rerouter??

if so what do you recommend?

I use a linksys 54g wireless router and linksys wireless laptop adapter, both excellent, easy to install and I've had mine a year now without any probs got mine here

yes not good news really m8, i downloaded Firmware Version : 2.02.7 and flashed the router but don't seem any different, I ended up on some linksys discussion forum late last night ( lol....can't find it again) and saw a few people asking the same thing and the general answer was that our router wasn't capable of the faster speed there was one bloke reckoned he'd modded he's but it sounded to complicated (taking out the main board, soldering bits blah blah) not worth the trouble m8, shame

I have the linksys WRT54G and have installed the new firmware....no extra speed but more tweaks....but you can upp the power on the wireless as it set to 50% by default.. :salute:
