why are garmin maps so out of date

is it just me but i just got the 2008 update maps for my garmin and sill it has not got my road on it ,,it only been buit 7 years a go ffs

when i look at my mates tomtom it has my road on it ,,garmin you are crap

i am the other way any tom tom that ive had does not have my road 4 years built but the garmin does LOL

It all depends on the local authority, if they have told the mapping company's they have changed the road.

My street has been built 25 years mate and its still not on tomtom or garmin

the delivery vans from ASDA routinely get lost when trying to deliver to my house lol
