The following is my existing configuration, so need something compatible, but ideally looking to upgrade to 2gig. Currently got 2 512mb DDRs PC3200 200 mhz installed

DDR can only be replaced with DDR (actually that goes for all RAM e.g. DDR2 with DDR2, SDRAM with SDRAM etc)

Digicol posted some 1GB DDR400 (PC3200) from Play in the bargain room recently: http://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/index.php?threads/178204/

One of the reviewers states that she could only get it running at 333 speeds, I can almost guarantee that she's got an nforce based motherboard.

Go to www.crucial.com, they have a system scan utility and it will scan ur system, tell you how much RAM u currently have and the recommended upgrade and price, they also post for FREE, only problem is that it takes 3-5 days to be delivered. I use it all the time and recommend to anyone that dont mind waiting a couple of days.
