from a shop thats not bad - I assume they wont be fitting/installing it for that price - in general I would avoid ecs boards tho

If you look here the chip alone is £78
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/119731

1GB of RAM is normally £15 which would mean your paying like less than £5 for the mobo!!!

Seems a bargain to me

this isnt the mobo what he first showed me cos the one he showed me before was a 16gig ram slot which he said was ideal for future upgrades i dont know the name of the mobo but after googling it came up with the name gigabyte ?????????? as anyone got any views on this mobo

thanks

chip will be old stock as otherwise would not be specified - so 'full' price net comparision isnt really applicable - eg a 4850e is faster, cooler and signifcantly cheaper - and will fit on an AM2 board same as the above

they are offering that deal as thats what they have and are giving a discount basically to get shot of it - as I said before it's not a bad deal - but if you have the facility to buy off the net and can be bothered to do some research then you could probably get close to that price for more modern kit

The ECS is budget but the Gigabyte is a well respected MB manufacturer.

At that price they are certainly not robbing you whichever you get.
