waste water not draining on dishwasher

dont suppose any of u guys have had this prob b4? I think the blockage is in the actual dishwasherf and not in the pipe - there is a load of water still left after the cycle at the bottom. Have taken the filter type bit out and cant see anythin (thru the murky water!) and have had a feel about but nothing there. Havent taken the pipes apart for the waste water but there doesnt seem to be water in them...

flush it through with some costic soda not pure though 50 50 soda crystals and water you can buy it most diy stores

With a dishwasher isn't it a pump that clears the water away..??

If that is the case it may be worth cleaning the washer arms out and flushing the filters out too....

Not sure the soda will do much good if it is a pump...

cheers for ur help guys have had a good clean out of all waste pipes and cleaned all the filter out at the bottom and it appears to have worked!
