Wake On Lan

n e body no how to do this, i want to wake computers using the LAN, i no this can be done but dont no how to do it

I think there is a setting in the BIOS for Wake on LAN, although I've never tried it out.

thanks, iv tried that and its enabled, but wot do i do with the remote pc, is there n e programs, iv also heard about magic packets sent to the host to turn on, is this true

have had a look as its something I could do with setting up.
You're right about the magic packet thing _http://www.matcode.com/wol.htm
I also seem to remember seeing some jumpers on my motherboard but I could be mistaken about that.
I'll keep trawling until somebody wiser replies to this thread!

Its also worth noting that on some lan cards a seperate connector runs between tne card and a plu on the mobo.
