To make VOIP calls, you'll need to go through the internet. Depending on the type of phone you've been offered, that will either have to go through a router or a pc running the relevent VOIP software.

Some VOIP phones also connect to a normal phone line, but you would be making 'normal' calls at 'normal' rates through your existing phone provider if you used this feature.
