VM splitter with db inputs what goes where

I have a splitter with readings on 4db and 3.6db on the 2 outputs

so what do they mean and what goes where as in one cable to cable modem other to my Solo2 SE

each time a signal is split the signal drops, the numbers are just labeling which output drops what. I would put your solo on 3.6 as there is less of drop on that output.
