Right I need to upgrade my Vista Premium to Ultimate for domain support.
I have important files on my current Premium C Drive.

Is it possible to create a new partition on the C Drive, Install Ultimate on the new partition, Transfer the files from old Partition to New Partition, then delete the Premium Version of Vista and rename the new Partition to C Drive?

These are not critical system files though are they? If they are not, you can either just whack them on a USB memory stick or go ahead with installing Ultimate.

The installer actually asks you if you want to keep your old files etc when upgrading, so just say yes. But it would be good to keep a back up of them somewhere.

Dualbooting seems like an uneeded thing at this point.
