Virus-hit Wuhan has two laboratories linked to Chinese bio-warfare program

You've hit the nail on the head, it can only put into the system stats if its detected and in some countries their simply is'nt the facility especially 3rd world countries to test.

Carry on as normal and if your at risk then only react if and when. On the subject of hygiene, I always wash my hands after every toilet visit. I'm still amazed when say I'm out how many fella's don't bother then open the door via handle leaving the loo.
The corona virus has highlighted hand hygiene once again as a possible

A while back, where I work, we had agency workers on the shop floor and many of them were total animals. The bogs were unbelievable.

Having said that (on my Mother's life), I witnessed a senior finance manager leave a bog cubicle, leave the bog, start using the coffee machine. No need for hand washing or anything like that...

People used to laugh at me for using paper towels to operate taps or open doors. Most have now changed their mind.

Well, a bit pestilence will thin the population. The crusties want that don't they?

It's the same at a football match, I stood there waiting to use a dryer for a few mins after washing my hands and I'd say a dozen guys walked straight out.
Now I'm no fuddy duddy but simple hand hygiene after a toilet visit should be 2nd nature if facilities are available. Same goes in hospitals leaving wards. Dispensers and sinks are there but some folk think thier immune.
I wonder, how many times over the years were you've had a dicky stomach and blamed it on something you've eaten when infact it was germs past on via poor hand or washing hygiene from some dirty lazy f##ker !.
The worrying but for me was a woman doctor specializing in diseases explained how to properly wash your hands which in alot of cases is impossible
Soap
Water
Nail brush
Scrub for 2 minutes
If germs can live through a normal 20 second wash dry we've had it

And finally, the wifes been trying for years to get me on a cruise and one of the reasons I refused was, everyone's on top of one another.
She then starts to explain about stops, ports, tours, etc. So I mentioned cold and coughs she kinda humbugged it, shes not now. The cruise industry relies on people of a certain age, the same people who are vulnerable to disease. It will be hit hard for sure

In a day and age were I could be in Australia Monday night we have sped up disease transfer from continent to continent 10 fold.

I don't go on holidays like that, I can't stand the feeling of being "herded".

I simply don't do it.

Cruise ships and planes (recirculated air?) seem to be good for getting diseases.

I'm watching The Andrew Marr Show now and basically you can try but you'll not stop it full stop.
Think about it, how the hell do you stop people gathering and been in contact with each other ??. Work, transport, family, sports both participating and watching, music concerts it goes on and on and on. Italy banned all flights from China and look were it got them.
Worse scenario one in your household gets it and they self isolate and your stuck with it.

Up here, we have two universities and a Chinatown.

It's a question of time.

Seem to remember something about someone testing a bowl of free mints (imperials) near a public toilet (motorway cafe or similar) and found lots of different samples of urine on them:confused: something along those lines.

Oh I can believe that, it's took this Corona virus to wake us up to the very basics of health and hygiene like hand washing.

Ultra violet light is something we need to investigate into as a form of germ killing and how it can be used in everyday living

UV is commonly used for medical equipment, as is ozone.

should never need a wake up call to basic hygeine ffs
its just ignorant & lazy

Some years ago I was doing a job in a huge Argos warehouse in Lutterworth. This particular toilet block included a drinking tap and plastic cup dispenser. I later heard an Asian guy had been escorted from the premises after being caught leaving a cubicle and putting a plastic cup back into the dispenser.
It was a holy time in the Asian calendar and I can only guess as to which part of his body he had been cleaning. How often had he done this?

The plastic cup dispenser was immediately removed from the toilets.

I have had a real "thing" about public toilets ever since. Use tissue/paper towels to open doors but the unwashed leave a trail everywhere. On banisters if toilets are upstairs, on chairs, tables, every surface you can think of. It's practically impossible to totally shield yourself from it and still appear normal.
Unfortunately there is no way to enforce hand washing in public toilets.

Basic hygiene should be taught to you by your parents and school as a child. If your asked "Have you washed your hands ?" it tends to become 2nd nature as a child just to wash them.

I've been saying for years, it will be germs that kill us as a race, not wars or religion or global warming simply because their smarter and have learned to evolve, their always one step ahead of us.

The bug we need to fear the most is the airbourne surface transferable type germ/bug, the type that can live longer outside the human body.
Every year were getting closer and closer to a killer bug, the Corona virus is only the tip of the iceberg, the worse has yet to come

This i what is happening in Benidorm right now.
(emergency state lockdown)

They can use the bar and restaurant but face a thorough check everytime. He's got a pile of cans in his room just getting leathered. He's been told 3 days then their flying home but I think he's been told a porky there
