Built in the 1920s for the workers engaged in building the hydro-electric system on the dam, it is named for King Alfonso XIII of Spain who is reported to have inspected the construction from the walkway.

Takes a very brave person, harness or not, to walk that walk. I was amazed at how many others were there and how relaxed they all looked about it.

i wonder how many workers lost their lives building this walkway.A true feat of engineering
