Is it possible to use 2 graphics cards for a quad moniter output. for example having a pci card and a pci express card. will that combination work

at the minute i have a geforce 8600 with dual mointer setup
so im thinking of using my old pci card which has 2 outputs aswell

any ideas

I built a machine with NVidia SLI setup, quad monitors and Vista, uses NVidias own software for controlling the screens.

Don't know about mixing PCI And PCIE cards. I guess you can suck it and see, doubt it will blow up the PC. Make sure your PSU is up to the job.

I've got an AGP and a PCI video card. They work fine together.

I read you must put the PCI card in the first PCI slot though. I don't know if it makes it work or not, but i've never tried otherwise. It's such a mission to open the pc and then wire it all up again.

lol my pc case is never closed, im always changing something here and there, and it needs some fresh air aswell
