Use old laptop as a media centre

Hey guys
As per title I have an old laptop that's screen is broken. I want to use it as a media player using the HDMI port. Is there any media centre apps? I know nothing about this sorta thing but the laptop can be formattedb or whatever, I also have an IPTV sub which is like to incorporate somehow? Alos I'd like if possible to be able to set a torrent to download using my phone, like the phone sends the link to the laptop so it's downloaded when I return.

Kodi is your best bet

I'd go Plex. It's what I use and can't complain about it.

There is apps for everything to connect to the server.
Media Server | Plex allows you to stream video smarter.

I've used both Kodi and Plex to stream from my media server, and although Plex does have its advantages, I've settled on Kodi.

I just find it easier to use.

windows 10, it was my main laptop until i smashed the screen!

hi @cactikid nah, 4 years old tops! It was just cheaper to buy a new one than faff about with the screen
