Does anybody have any experience of one of these or know if their any good ??

Yep, I've been using one and they are pretty good. I use the one manufactured by 3com. It's not flawless, does drop connection once in a while, but otherwise, use it to share internet connection between upstair's / downstair's PC (and that too on dial-up) and it works pretty swiftly.

You are better with an acccess point but I ran an adaptor for a year with no probs

The boy dos'nt use it all the time so i'm hoping as he dos'nt play games online yet it will be fine for browsing the net and doing his homework...
