Anyone know if you can update a PC from USB 1.0 to be USB 2.0 compliant or is it a case of purchasing a new motherboard?

as far as i know mate its not software its down to your hard ware , even if you got a usb 2 hub its still connecting to a usb 1 , so no point.

just get the pci card, i used to have one in my old computer, works a charm, 5iver for 4 usb 2.0 ports,worth it!

Don't think PCI cards will work unless they have a new controller built in. If in device manager you don't see "Standard Enhanced USB Controller" then USB2 probably won't work as the PCI card will simply provide more ports.

New mobo is always a better bet anyway.
