Urgent help

@ mods/admins - sorry if this is in the wrong section but I need a quick help, sorry!

my hdd died on me os I bought a new one and a usb caddy to try and save my files, I used EASEUS to scan it and it found all the files, about 8gb, but it just let me save 1gb because its a free software, does any one know a good FREE data recovery software ?

I am trying now one called iCare, but the estimataded time is 9h45min for the scan ! does it normally take that long?

Hiren's boot CD also has recovery tools. You didn't mention how big your HDD is but 10 hours plus to do a full scan does not seem out of place.
