My laptop and PC both run Win 98se and I really ought to upgrade.
My question is whether my 750mhz chip and 256meg memory is really capable of running XP.
Microsoft says it can be done but who listens to them?!

Thanks
Maj.

PS
This is what Microsoft say is needed:
• PC with 300 megahertz or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233 MHz minimum required (single or dual processor system);* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, or AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended
• 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features)
:)

i've had xp on a 667 processor worked without any problems.
you will need at least 2-3 GB hard drive space. Only problems with windows is all the crappy spyware...

better off using Ubuntu Linux :) no spyware, no viruses

I've got a P2 350 with 256m RAM and I don't have any real problems. But I would get some virus software cos Spyware is a right BITCH!

no problem with spec machine u have, as others have said if u have a few pounds a bit more memory wont hurt.

Thanks for the advice, guys, much appreciated.
I had no idea Bill Gates's products could be so reliable!!
Now I just need to get make sure I don't pay him for the privilege of using it! Ha ha.
