Updating to 4.2e

Hi,

Im gonna softmod a wii today for my sister....trouble is its on a very old version...I wanna update to 4.2e then softmod, easiest way is to network update but is it still 4.2e? or is there another safe way to do it..without taking this chance....on 3.1 at the moment

dont update to 4.2, goto 4.1.

also before you do anything, make sure bootmii is installed as boot2 and you have taken a nand backup. that way you can always restore back to how things were.

I've always done wii's on 4.2e....but does anyone what network update is at the moment??

4.2 is network update.

but 4.1 and 4.2 are identical except 4.2 just removes region free on mod chips and attempts to block homebrew etc.

4.1 is currently the best system menu.

Updated via network to 4.2e because I didnt know how to update to 4.1....all worked fine...thanks
