Updating from 3.1e to 4.2e

Hi guys,

Just started to browse the wii section (usually in the Sat forum) and I have a question regarding updating the wii. The kids wii is currently running v3.1e (never gets used really) and I was wondering how to update to 4.2e for soft modding. If I was going to update via the wii over the internet does it give you a choice of which update to update with or does it download and install the latest version. If so is it possible to do a manual update of 4.2e?

update to 4.1, not 4.2

use a game with the update on it... new super mario bros has 4.1

online update is 4.3, which is no good. Disk is the easiest way... unless you can already run homebrew, then you can use the 4.1 safe updater

Bad ad already softmodded my wii but still on 3.2e + running usb configurable using bro guide in the stickys - which is brilliant. Do you know if the files here will update to 4.1e
