Flashed a x1I (Imageworks - conversion no probs) version to a Sagem. Initially, there were glitches every few minutes. Picture would disappear on FR but still had sound accompanied by a weird kind of twittering/chirping noise. FTA channels were all still OK without twittering/chirping but no FR or Sky movies etc - had to reboot to see these. After a lot of rebooting, fiddling with settings and letting it sit on FTA for an hour or two it seemed to stabilise and then ran almost glitch-free all night. I find it's more stable with the Avia 500 driver but will check out 600 again onight, maybe.
Scanned using 'update' but lost all Front Row completely. Got PPV instead but nothing there. Scanned again using original xml files using 'leave' and got FR back with about 1/4 of FR channels EPG. From time to time this info vanishes but then comes back later. Any ideas why it's inconsistent and what I can do to get full complement of EPG for FR.
Set up recording direct to file via Windows Gbit LAN and everything worked absolutely fine. Only problem is the box won't retain all settings for remote recording directory and tries to mount wrong one (the one I first set and then changed) on boot. Directory has to be set manually each time. Maybe I can edit the config file to sort it out. Also I can't delete the first 'test' recordings I made, either via ftp or directly. This may be my fault for trying to delete 'test' recordings from PC via Windows Explorer.
All in all it's pretty impressive m8, so if there's an even better one in the pipeline, ypou're gonna be a star in my book!
Like to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH to you Gav and also to Liam for his indispensible 'Revised tutorial' and to chi for 'Recording From DBox To PC & To DVD'.
PS Just booted box and five minutes in it's twittering/chirping and needing reboots! Maybe my Sagem needs to warm up like B & W TV used to.............
