update firmware on samsung dvd recorder?

i have a samsung dvd recorder DVD-R135, its a piece of sh!t really only plays discs when it feels like it, and when it does its back ups only and not originals.

i've noticed there is a firmware update on the samsung website, but it doesnt tell you how to do it............fooking typical lol.

i downloaded it i and its a .RUF file, so i tried doing it the usual way of burning it to disc and poping it in the drive but it doesnt recognise the disc and spits it out.

anyone know how to do it??

Does the Sammy have a RS232 port on the back? You could have to use that if it is there.

been onto samsung firmware pages and found a pdf file on how to upgrade the firmware, the manual is for the R130 but the firmware files are still .RUF files

in shorts it says you burn to a disk and load into the dvd player. check the manual out as it has some hints as to why it may not load
