Update bootloader?

I have two dm800se sim 2.10's. One has the 84d bootloader and the other 84a.

Both are flashed with exactly same image.

Just wondering if there is any need for me to upgrade 84a to 84d so they're both the same?

What is difference between them? I'm thinking long term if I need to try and recover from corrupt image or possible bootloader is one better than the other?

The 84d bootloader allows you to use OE2.0 images 84a does not.

So if you need to use the latest images then you do need to flash 84d.

Can u please point me in direction of where I can get 84d and how to flash it etc. I looked in DM800se clone second stage loader thread but that's 84a and 84b.

The box I'm trying to update has 84a (or 84b) so according to what I read in this thread:-

To use sim2 patched images with new ssl 84
if the dreambox has old ssl 82 bootloader,flash new ssl-84 nfi first by internet explorer or dreamup then flash sim2 image
if new ssl84 already flashed to dreambox just flash the sim2 image by usual method

I just flash via internet explorer this ssl84d and that's it. I don't need to re-flash the openatv image from gstroom or anything else either before or after this ssl84d flash?

Yes, it has openatv 4.2 sim2 by gstroom ssl84d and it works now.
