Unix Sharing Lib (.so) editor

hey

anyone know a decent .so (unix sharing lib) editor and a decent image extractor program?

Newsticker is pissing me off, need to rip it to pieces and re-write it (non-half assed) oh and the German is seriously pissing me off aswell (fookin damn german...grrr why did I have to take french in school!?) so that needs properly translated...so yeah, fook it, i'll make my own image...any help?

What do you mean by image extraction tool? There is a program called NewTuxFlash and it allows you to open an image on your PC and extract any files from the image.
 
thanks. borland can edit .so files just incase anyone wants to be adventurous (don't edit lib files, lib bad!)
 
Are you after a binary editor? This would allow you to edit the strings in any file but you must be careful to keep them the same length (pat with spaces), it it might still break things. eg the programs logic may not be expecting the last character to be a space. etc
