Unable to Install Update

hi guys getting this on my sons pc ...unable to install this update.... Security Update for Windows XP with Windows Media Format Runtime 9.5 and 11 (KB941569)

What SP are you at right now SP2 or SP3? - to find out hold down windows logo key + pause/break key together and it will tell you on the systems prpoerties box.

Did you get an error message with the failed update, if so what is it?

thanks for the reply m8 ..pc is on sp3 the error is ....

I had this problem the other day
what to do is go to start , run
and type in each of these commands
hitting the enter button after each one

regsvr32 /s wuapi.dll
regsvr32 /s wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 /s wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 /s wucltui.dll
regsvr32 /s wups2.dll
regsvr32 /s wups.dll
regsvr32 /s wuweb.dll

then restart
