Ugent Help, I think i've got a virus

Childrens but still respected
I was listening to music on my PC, and all of a sudden the sound just cut out and the keyboard stopped working. I've rebooted twice and no success :( So now i'm left with no sound, and im using a not-so-good quality keyboard that plugs in to the USB port :(

Any help would be appreciated :(

Ok, i found a registry tweak online that has fixed the sound problem (it restored the settings to default) :).

But my keyboard is still not working :(.

I dont think i explained the keyboard problem correctly. My standard keyboard that plugs into the standard keyboard connection thing at the back of the computer is not working :( so now i am using another keyboard that works, it's a USB one.

How can i sort out the problem of the original keyboard not working :(

You sure you got it plugged in the right hole ;)

Yep, definately sure. It's been there since I got the computer, never been removed since, so it should all be gravy - but it aint :( Thanks anyways

Any other ideas? Please i really need to get my keyboard working :( This is a really bad USB keyboard - it has no GB Pound symbol, and the #, @, and " keys are all in different places

This can be corrected until you get your new k/board. Go to Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options. On the drop down box, change it to English (United Kingdom). If its not there check for the CABs folder.

When you say ur keys are all over the place I presume you mean....to access @ you need to use shift and 2 etc...if this is the case then go into control panel click on the keyboard setting and re-do your setup for it. It sounds like it is set up for english/usa rather than english/english.

Hope this helps until you sort another keyboard out.

Thanks Tina & Little Pob, thats sorted out the key problem :)

But i still dont know why my old keyboard just suddenly stopped working :(

This may be a stupid suggestion and if so feel free to tell me, but have you tried unplugging the original keyboard then putting it back in while the pc is turned off ? Sounds silly i know but sometimes it does sort this problem.
