Hello all,

Just a quick question was looking on the wizardsatellite website and noticed the tripod stand below.

TRIPOD STAND - £39.00 : Wizard Satellite, Satellite receivers, dishes, lnbs and equipment

Just wondering could this be used for a motorised setup with a dish of about 88cm. Or is it mainly for fixed setups.

Also would it be able to withstand the wind etc. Obviously could sink it in the ground a bit underthe earth for some stability etc.

Just a thought. Anybody had any success with these.

As due to my building and the brick work need to mount the dish in the garden on a pole of some sort.

Hi M8

I don,t think that it would be very stable as it is and you would have to
sink it pretty deep in the ground, so you would not get much height.
You would be better off getting yourself a scaffold pole, about 10ft
and sink that into the ground at say 3 to 4ft and concrete it in, but
you would have to make sure it was bang on plumb, if you were going
motorized. I would also do the same if i was only looking at one sat
and was static, as you could then use the same pole if you wanted to upgrade later on.
