Yes, because HD-DVD is now a dead format.

I've seen BluRay Optical Drives which cost at a retail price of around £499, which baffles me tbh.
By the way, you can fit like 10 times more data on a BluRay disc than normal DVD's which is great, so no wonder the prices for both optical drives and actual disks and high.
Im sure within 10 years, they'll be cheap and chips.
