topup tv

a quote from what sat amagzine:

topup tv will be using the latest version of seca mediaguard, which it says, will last AT LEAST 3-5 years before hackers break it.

this is the same version of mediaguard used by sky italia to combat pirates in italy, with great success.

what sat must br printed a few weeks proir to issuing lmao.
start dusting the programmers lol

yep one of the reasons for delay of transmission is regarding encryption. Top-up want the best but for cheapest price, so cant afford to replace all the existing receivers, and want people to subscribe instantly and not having to pay for a new box etc. There was a legal issue regarding the updating of ondig boxes to seca2 because they are not owned by top-up, but it seems that it may go ahead and top-up can use seca2. But if they still expect it to last 3 years they are well under prepared. Thing is that the issue now is that $ky will not agree to allow skyone to be broadcast until a safe encryption is used. Basically they want nds encryption to be used because they own it! But this means big expense for top-up and also for the customer which means it will not take off...
Problems, problems, but all great fun:)
