TomTom v7 on Navigo II

hi, thanks for that. I will try and load them on my navigo and let you know how I get on.

hey, Afterhourz, do I just copy all the files from that zip to my sd card?

(SD in PC)
1. Unrar to SD
(SD in satnav)
2. From main menu select system>3rd page>map path and set mappath to sdmmc\mobilenavagator\mobilenavagator.exe
3. From main menu select navagation to run TT, this will launch TT but crash/stop due to map error.(only need this step to generate bif file)
(SD in PC)
4. Run fast activate, select update meta then select maps, give it a min to finish.
(SD in satnav)
5.From main menu select navagation to run TT, this will launch TT, if worked it should run OK.

This is for F&H, the menu will prob slight diff on navgo. Not sure if you have option to set map path, if not look at this, you may have to uise active sync to hack it http://navigo.wikispaces.com/ ?

Hi.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread.

Do people still use the Navigo V2 sat nav at all?

I have a Navigo V2 with TomTom 7 installed but everything is out of date as everything was done about two or three years ago. I'm trying to update the map info if possible.

On my root folder I have a mobilenavigator folder, United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_v720.1802 folder and a ttnavigator.bif file.

Is there any easy way just to update the map info? Or is it a complicated job?

I managed to install Tom Tom on the sdcard a few years ago, but I've forgotten the actual process involved. I seem to remember is spawned it a bit and got it working :)

I'd love to update the Navigo as its been a brilliant sat nav and still got plenty to give. I just need to update the maps.

Cheers.

I'd like to resurrect this thread too :)
I have a navigo v2 which I out on TT6 with West Europe mapping, no problem. Now I have a navigo v1 and want to do the same but am getting stuck... I started from scratch, can't get the keygen to work but am having to copy the maps from my other SD card so there is already a meta.dct file there. When I look in the meta text I can see Western_Europe_1GB-14 but my map is 140... adding a 0 to the meta text does nothing... I am lost. Can anyone help please? Preferably in easy-to-understand speak :)

i thaught i had the stuff for the v1 still on a hard drive but it dosent seem 2 b there but i did find a pdf of how 2 install tt onto a v2 View attachment Instructions to install TomTom.pdf it might be of some use to you

i still use a v2 on my motorcycle. cheap cheerfull and so what if it gets broken. only cost me £8 off ebay 3 years ago lol

Thanks for your help: they look like the instructions I have already, but I will follow them exactly to the letter and hopefully things will work out. I like my navigo too as it's always worked really well; now I'd like another for a second car, so here's hoping :)

Still stuck! I am assuming that a new meta.dct file has to be created for each navigo, yes? Otherwise I could just copy the entire contents of my card from the nav 2 and it should run... but it doesn't. So, it won't create the meta.dct file as it says it can't find the meta file. When I look in the meta text I can see Western_Europe_1GB_14 but my map ends with 140. So I altered the text to that, saved and got the same result - it still can't find it. Anyone know what I need to do?

OK, have now tracked down all original files so finally managed to create the meta.dct file - yay! BUT I still can't get past the error/voucher code needed. When I read the card via a card reader the netbook starts up Tomtom home - it's the navigo that still won't read Tomtom.

did you get your device id from the ttnavigator.bif file and enter it into the “Edit, Save, Open.bat” file that u used to create the meta.dct file.. if u didnt thats prob why you are getting that error

I tried messing with meta files a few years ago with limited success. Have since used Muppetproof keygen or TomTom FastActivate & they both work far easier. Google is your friend.
HH.

I used a muppet keygen first of all - that one didn't show the map version in the meta text file. So.. I searched for another, older one and that one would not create the .dct file either. Then I dug out the original keygen I'd used a few years ago and it did create the .dct file. I saved to the maps folder and still got an error message. Moved it to different folders of the card and still an error code. So perhaps I need to find a new map, but that wasn't so easy last time round. I'll look at fast activate next though and keep trying!

OK: now I am using a newer map and using easy activator. It now gives me a runtime error 331 (I think) about RICHTX32.OCX being missing or invalid, even though the activator says it has already found it on the system. Any ideas anyone? Please?

Need a wee bit more info please:
What version of TomTom do you have? Is the map you have compatible with your version of TomTom? When you downloaded your map did your virus checker (if any) see any problems with it . The error comes up on your satnav when you start TomTom up? What exactly is the error? What were the errors with the old map, same or different?
Somebody might be able to help if you post some more info.
HH.

No, unfortunately I haven't got as far as the satnav itself.
I started over, downloaded new map, new easy-activator (all part of the same bundle). Virus checker saw no problems. When I ran the easy-activator to create the .dct file, it gave me the runtime error, as above, saying the RICHTX.32 file was invalid or missing, even though as the activator is runs through and says it is there.
Tomtom version is 7. I will check to see the map version.

right heres wot i used for educational purposes only you understand

2gb sd card

Western_Europe_1GB_815.2024 map

TT7.910.9185 tomtom program

FastActivate_04.02.2012_Premium_edition_v1.8.8.1 map activator

i put the map folder and mobile navigator folder onto the root of the sd card

ran tomtom and got the activation failed error

hit continue

hit voucher

iexplore error pops up then shutdown navigo

remove sdcard and put into pc's card reader.. dont use activesync cause it wont work

run fast activate, select what you want activated. it will start a batch program then ask for the drive letter of the sd card. type drive letter then hit enter

hit enter again after it's finished, put the sd card back in navigo start tomtom

and hey presto it works.

now set your gps device

other nmea receiver

baud rate 38400

com7:

i tested this as i typed it in. so i know it works..

hope you get this sorted

Hi Guys n Gals

Any map or speedcam updates for the Navigo or is it a dead un ?

My current maps are : United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_885_4059

I only use mine once a year so its become and annual thing to update if possible.

Even if I could just get the speedcam updates it would be a help.

Thanks !

OK 2 things ...

1) I cant open that link. I used to be a VIP member but now I am not for some reason ... do I need to be ?!

2) For anyone thats following this thread I can confirm that the newest maps (15th May) that work on the Navigo with NavCore v7.910 are 'Europe_1GB_North_910_4952'.

Cheers.
