A older guy I know dropped a Tomtom Go Live 825 model and asked me could I update the maps for him as he's are badly out of date. He's old school and uses it all the time.

Can anyone point me in the right direction were to read up and maps as I have not a friggin scooby with it,
or
Should I simple hand it back

It has lifetime map updates according to the TomTom site, you need to install Mydrive for windows then plug the satnav into a usb port, it should be recognized by Mydrive which should update it. Unless you are after the latest camera locactions.

I did but it said that this particular model is no longer supported your maps are 700 days old. It updated to it's last maps release dated 2018

which I did and I gave it him back with the instructions not to go anywere new

So much for lifetime updates. I better check the Go 50, I've not updated that in over a year.
