Latest software works very well issued (July 1st)

See my latest ch list All transponders updated 46 east to 45 west.

This is a fta list if you want all tv on any satellite then just press scan All TV.

The Blind Scan is 2nd to none on this receiver supports over 250 Biss tv channels (remove duplicated frequencies as this stops the Biss keys working to add a 2nd Biss key on the same frequency add the frequency + 4MHz so 11919 becomes 11923 ect) or minus 11915.

im running this software already and it wont download the channels on 27.5w. ive tried your latest fta/softcam/b*** list for the 5302HD and the channels wont clear on that list either. the blind scan is fantastic on the box but its getting very frustrating now and its nearly gone out of the window a couple of times lol(reminds me of my first attempts with a dm500s about 6 years ago) can you get 27.5w working on your TM5302HD? regards mdt

That is correct for some reason 27.5 west & a couple of other biss keys do not clear on the TM5302HD they used to on previous software but as i like the Blind scan on this version I use the TM5402HD for what does not clear on the TM5302HD,

As the TM5402HD has such a crap Blind Scan but all other functions work fine I use both receivers via an AB switch form one motorised dish all I need now is a decent 4:2:2 stb with up to date software in include the latest codex & APSK ect ect as the old AZBox cannot clear much these days.

thanks for the confirmation on 27.5w.... im not too concerned about 16APSK.ACM/VCM as i have a TBS 6925 card for that.. when will they build a box for us enthusiasts that does it all? never i suspect, regards mdt

Currently 85% of transmissions via satellite including feeds are covered by my current set up,

Who knows what the future will bring but if it makes money they will build it.

When you get around 10,000 of us who are all willing to chip in around 5-600 pound for the type of receiver your wanting.

Let me know when you get the other 9,999 and we will give the boys at the Korean factory a shout with our minimum order.

Merlin said it all in a previous post you need a TM5402HD + 5302HD + TBS6925 Card + Vu Duo2 and maybe a couple of others, for that sort of cost i would gladly shell out the 5-600 for an all in one solution

Regards

I only use 3 receivers currently to achieve approx 85% of available Ku band feed coverage in DVB-S/DVB-S2,MPEG-2/MPEG-4,QPSK/8PSK/16QAM,4:2:0/4:2:2,Biss & soft encryption,

The cost of a new Enthusiasts Satellite Receiver to include 16APSK.ACM/VCM, latest codex, 32APSK, ACM/VCM Multistream/Single Carrier QPSK with Multiple Streams the chip will only cost a few ££ the main cost would be the processor as these are coming down all the time & getting smaller & smaller so the cost of a all bells & whistles Enthusiasts Satellite Receiver would be approx £250 to £300,

The Top of the range STB's being made today & there are over 100 of these made by various manufacturers that sell a few hundred a year cost from £400 to £600 these are no better than your TM5402HD they just look more elegant & some of these expensive stb do not have the support for 3rd party support,Blind Scan ect, as they are mainly used by the rich subscribers for multi card CAS support.

Hi Merlin,

I cant see the the actual Tuner card costing peanuts the TBS6925 which is just that a Tuner card with nothing else comes in at £179, Granted its been designed for a PC so the extra has to go for it to be compatible with PCI-E.

But you only have to look around yourself the Dual Tuner VU+ tuner comes in at £60, And there lies another problem processor cost do you make a receiver that relies on the Processor to take some of the Tuner processes ala Vu Duo and Vu Solo2 or do you go Silicon based ala Uno,Ultimo,Duo2 which frees up the processor for other dutys.

Personally i cant see it coming in at around £250-£300 unless you skimped on some features, Which i assume no one wants to do

digi247

I think you are probably right about not skimping features but who would build such a specialist receiver ? at a price that would put most off buying it as some bad experiences with expensive Linux receivers litter the forums,

So many would be put off until an established receiver with good support combined with excellent write up's appeared on the scene,

You would also need 3rd party support so maybe a gradual transition to the full blown Enthusiasts Receiver is a safer route,

The TM5302HD can capture APSK transmissions but you cannot view them,
The TM5402 HD can store Multi stream broadcast & you can view them albeit they are a bit jumpy,

So maybe the Hardware/Software improvements will allow more than we think,

I remember when HD started in MPEG-2 I used to get pictures with colour bars & sound on my TM5500DAPCI,
Some 4:2:2 transmissions start to resolve on my TM6900HD Super,

So maybe the best we can hope for is a TM capable 4:2:2 receiver with 3rd party support that would prove very useful as nearly all the UEFA CL feeds are in 4:2:2 encrypted in Biss.
