The ultimate question

Hi,

As this is my 100 post though I would do somethink a bit different.
I'm going to set a question, a question that in the past has won me many a round of drinks in the past.

There is 1 word in the English Language that if you change the 2 centre letters around, the word means the complete opposite as it's original meaning.

I might post the answer tonight if I have time before I go a party in Chester. If not, I will post the answer tomorrow before I go the England game.

Wasn't the answer to the ultimate question 42???? -)

Hmmm.....a good puzzler...will have to get my thinking hat on for this...

I found this out at uni. Our uni lecturer told it us but only after 6 months cos no one could work it out.
So forgive me guys if I don't give you the answer right away.

But I will give you a clue it's only right.

it's 6 letters long
